A well experienced professional in the financial services industry, Kevin G. Baird has been a local financial planner and wealth manager for over 34years. He is the President and founder of BAIRD Wealth Strategy Group as well as a Registered Representative and Branch Manager with United Planners Financial Services. The majority of his practice is devoted to helping pre and post retirees thoroughly understand their options to better manage their wealth, reduce future taxation and control the risk of their investments. He recognizes that outliving your income is a major concern for most retirees. He can help you minimize the risk of your investments while striving to stay ahead of the long term costs of inflation. Kevin is a Certified Financial Planner™, Certified Estate Planner, Accredited Investment Fiduciary® and holds the Series 7, 24 and 63 securities registrations as well as Life/Health/Disability Insurance licenses.
A California native who truly appreciates all the beauty the state has to offer, Kevin has lived in the Santa Barbara area for over 42 years. Working his way through college, he received his Bachelor of Arts degree from UCSB. Kevin believes in “giving back” and is an active member of his community. He has been a Rotarian for over 30 years and the president for two separate local clubs. he has volunteered as a youth mentor in the local school system. He has served as a Scout leader for over 10 years, while serving both as Cubmaster, Scoutmaster and an adult volunteer. As a youth, Kevin achieved the rank of Eagle Scout and is now the proud father of his two Eagle Scout sons. His favorite memories as both scout leader and youth was participating in and organizing the annual 50 mile backpacking trips in the high Sierras each summer. He has been a volunteer and/or board member for many local organizations like UCPA, Girls Inc., Mentor Match, Carpinteria Education Foundation, Klein Bottle Youth Programs, Rotary International, Boys Scouts of America and the Boys and Girls Club of Carpinteria. Recently, he was named as Volunteer of the Year for Girls Inc. of Carpinteria.
Kevin has been married to his wife, Donna, for over 34 years and they have two adult sons, Johnathan and Ryan. Kevin enjoys spending his free time outside. You can usually find him coaching or playing basketball, SCUBA diving boating and kayaking around the Channel Islands, and backpacking in the local mountains with his family and friends. Weather permitting, he tries to ride over 100 miles per week on his bicycle with friends.
