As a partner at Baird Wealth Strategy Group, David Walker’s role is to facilitate the harmonization of our clients’ financial lives. Nothing excites him more than to see an uncoordinated mix of investments transform into holistic plan that accounts for all the complex issues of retirement. This involves taking the pieces of the puzzle and rearranging them to connect clients with their complete financial picture. Financial Planning and strategic relationships are just a part of the services offered.
After graduating with a Bachelor’s Degree in Economics from the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill. He began his career as an equity derivatives trader with Citigroup Derivatives Markets INC. but has since grown his expertise to include a CFS® designation, as well as Series 7 (General Securities), 63 (Uniform Securities Agent State Law), and 66 (Uniform Investment Advisor Law) registrations.
Formerly a financial wholesaler, David spent almost two decades consulting with advisors on planning product solutions. Having met with thousands of financial advisors, he noticed many of the firms he visited lacked the ability to effectively aid clients in all the areas they needed – investments, taxes, and estates. He set out to remedy an underserved market by joining with a financial advisor, Kevin Baird, at Baird Wealth Strategy Group, which focuses on wealth management, estate planning, tax planning and risk mitigation.
The driving force behind David is his family. His wife, Taryn, and two daughters, Liv and Indy, motivate him to help others. They are his North Star and help him recognize that family and community are near and dear to his heart. Those who know David best can speak to his adventurous spirit. He is an avid outdoorsman who enjoys time near the ocean and the in the mountains; be it skiing, hiking, biking, swimming or surfing.
